Lebanon, Ohio

Throughout its storied history, Lebanon has been a popular stop for an array of notable visitors and a haven for many interesting residents. These folks have left in their paths a quaint, historic town boasting both architectural beauty and an enviable collection of attractions. One of Ohio's few Shaker communities once thrived in the area, and their simple style has persisted throughout Lebanon.

Start your day with a visit to the Warren County Historical Society Museum. Then board the Cincinnati Railway at the Lebanon station and return in time for lunch at The Golden Lamb, Ohio's oldest-inn, visited by 10 different presidents and other celebrities. After lunch browse in more than 50 antique and specialty shops. Finish your afternoon with a treat at the Village Ice Cream Parlor, an old-fashioned soda fountain. The next morning, plan to take a walking tour of one of Lebanon's four districts listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Each boasts a variety of architectural styles popular during the 1800s.

Be sure to make plans to return for the Historic Lebanon Christmas Festival. More than 100 horse-drawn antique carriages form a parade along the historic street surrounded by crafts, food and entertainment.
